من اولي جراحات السمنة التي تم اجراؤها بالمنظار والتي لاقت شهرة واسعة بداية من تسعينات القرن الماضي.. تحديدا 1993.كانت تعتمد علي زراعة حزام من السيليكون حول المعدة وتصميم جيب معدي صغير حوالي 20 ملل واللذي يعمل وظيفيا كمعدة جديدة ويمنع الحزام من زيادة الاكل عن هذا الحد.سبب معدل أمانها العالي وسهولتها النسبية انتشارها السريع ولكن مع الوقت تأكد عدم قدرة الحزام علي خسارة الوزن والحفاظ عليه مما أدي إلي استبدالها ببدائل أخري وحذفها من الاختيارات المتاحة حاليا

كلا بالطبع فلم يعد ينصح بها علي الاطلاق من أي اتحاد عالمي لجراحات السمنة.. فهي رغم نسبة الأمان العالي فيها الا ان نتائجها اضعف من انها تستمر كعلاج للسمنة وخاصة مع وجود البدائل الانجح

تخرج من كلية الطب جامعة الازهر بالقاهرة عام ٢٠٠١ بدرجة امتياز مع مرتبة الشرف .. ثم حصل علي ماچستير الجراحة العامة من نفس الجامعة عام ٢٠٠٥ بتقدير جيد جدا.ثم حصل علي زمالة كلية الجراحين الملكية البريطانية بلندن عام ٢٠٠٩
