النتيجة :

تقل كمية الاكل بشكل كبير جدا لصغر حجم المعدة الجديدة.يقل امتصاص الدهون والسعرات الحرارية مع تجاوز ال 50سم الأول من الأمعاء.
لاتزال فرصة كافية لامتصاص باقي عناصر الاكل في الطول المتبقي من الأمعاء.وبالتالي يتحقق هدفي انقاص الوزن وهو التحكم في حجم الوجبات مع تقليل امتصاص الدهون والسعرات..نظرا لان الفيتامينات تتأثر بكل هذه العوامل فإنه يتعين علي المريض الالتزام بالمكملات الغذائية والفيتامينات لمدة لاتقل عن سنتين
